Has it really been two weeks since my last post? Sheesh. I’ve been so busy putting on swim suits, taking off swim suits, making sandwiches and cutting up fruit, that I’ve been left with little time to do anything else. Except drawing and painting the mundane, which I have been doing in excess.
Here is a painting of a few little sea trinkets that are clinking about on one of my shelves. The shell was a gift from my Auntie Lynn who found it on her seashell gathering adventure to Sanibel Island in Florida. She brought me back a whole bag full of perfect little sea treasures. The other sea bits are from my own gathering adventures. I do also have to note that this is the same Auntie Lynn who makes the best pesto in the whole wide world (hint, hint).
Also, we recently learned that my littlest (Miss Mouse) most likely has Celiac Disease, which kind of through me into a whirlwind of questions and worry and then lots of “we can do this” hands-in-the-air moments. Oh, and I’m willing to admit there was some crying too. It did make me sad at first. That’s allowed, right? Lots of my energy has been spent researching and planning for this big change since, of course, I want my babe to be the healthiest babe she can be. We have a few more weeks to go before we have a solid diagnosis, so I am using this time to think and plan and remember how lucky we truly are.
Anyone find special, little treaures at the sea? In the forest? Post pictures and descriptions in the comments if you’d like.
more soon.
promise.

I’m going to the Puget Sound in a few weeks. I can’t wait to gather as I walk the beach!
I’m sorry to hear about the Celiac diagnosis. I hope you have many products available that will lighten the work load. It’s always nice to read your artistic posts, Emily.

M, that painting is excellent- I love it! Ho hum, just a perfect shell and some bright green seaweed.
